Ka’rin Thornburg, Ph.D.

Director, Partnership Engagement, Program Development, and Effectiveness

Dr. Thornburg oversees initiatives focused on strategic enrollment, recruitment, admissions, and financial aid. She brings over 15 years of admissions and enrollment management experience including directing regional, college/school, and campus-wide enrollment objectives and managing admissions research and strategic partnerships with institutional stakeholders. Ka’rin’s student-centered approach to transformative enrollment management strategies amplifies student voices, promotes institutional awareness and responsibility, minimizes barriers, improves operational efficiencies, and increases access and belonging for minoritized and underserved students. She’s held several leadership roles at The University of Texas at Austin and appointed positions in national and regional higher education organizations. Ka’rin is the first in her family to earn advanced degrees, including an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy from The University of Texas at Austin.
