Julian Capel, Ed.D.

Associate Director, Project Lead

As a partnership associate for Ed Advancement, Dr. Julian Capel oversees projects, relationships, and other program elements to advance the organization’s support of partner HBCUs. He brings vast experience as a former student-athlete, scholar, consultant, public speaker, and administrator, including 15 years of experience in leadership and 12 years in higher education. Julian was the Director of Student and Community Outreach at the University of South Carolina. He also spent eight years at Fayetteville State University in progressively responsible roles as program director for student development, academic advisor, and Director of Student Engagement. Julian earned a bachelor’s in sociology and a master’s in sports leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University. He also earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Fayetteville State University.
