Ka’rin Thornburg, Ph.D.

Vice President, Services and Solutions
Dr. Thornburg oversees Ed Advancement’s portfolio of higher education services and solutions. In this role, she works across the organization to ensure our resources effectively support partner institution goals, meet program expectations, and achieve sustainable outcomes.
With nearly two decades of experience in higher education leadership at university, state, and national levels, her expertise spans admissions operations, student recruitment, academic enrollment, campus partnerships, scholarship initiatives, diversity initiatives, first-year learning communities, sense of belonging, and student experience. Before joining Ed Advancement, she held positions at the University of Texas at Austin, focusing on various aspects of enrollment management and student support. her research on the expectations and experiences of Black students at flagship institutions inspired her to connect with HBCUs and other mission-focused institutions.
Dr. Thornburg holds an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy from The University of Texas at Austin.
