Position Description
Reporting to the Director, CRM Implementation, the Associate Director – CRM Solutions will support Slate by Technolutions (CRM) implementation at Ed Advancement partner institutions. Primary responsibilities include assisting with institutional business process analysis, system configuration, deployment, and training for Slate, as well as recommending, advocating for, and leading the implementation of new Slate features, capabilities, and processes. This role may also assist with developing and/or implementing future tools and systems related to the CRM.
The Associate Director is expected to understand the functional needs of partner institutions and how Slate can be configured to meet those needs. In addition, the Associate Director will develop a comprehensive understanding of the complex interdependencies among different systems that integrate with Slate, identify risks related to these interdependencies, and recommend appropriate changes to business requirements and processes.
The ideal candidate will have higher education product experience, technical expertise in Slate, and familiarity with various higher education technology systems. Responsibilities
Project Administration
- Lead assigned CRM implementation and data integration projects at partner institutions by defining and managing the project scope, objectives, risks, tasks, responsibilities, and timelines.
- Guide external technical team members assigned to projects and ensure that milestones are met according to the schedule.
- Prepare status reports, identify training needs, and create documentation while indirectly managing cross-functional staff and deliverables to achieve project goals and partner institutions’ objectives. Additionally, focus on re-engineering and streamlining processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with software vendors to identify necessary software enhancements, test vendor-supplied solutions, and understand new features and expectations for system upgrades.
- Conduct needs assessments as appropriate.
Implementation, Deployment, and Support
- Under the guidance of the Director, assist with planning, configuring, and developing the CRM implementation while also supporting institutional Slate deployments.
- Collaborate with functional users at partner institutions to understand their business processes, ensuring that our systems meet their needs.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of the Slate Platform to recommend and implement suitable solutions for various business needs within the Admissions department and other areas.
- Independently identify and resolve issues related to platform and technology integration, business process configuration, and other integration challenges associated with applications in the institution’s business processes.
- Communicate new enhancements and expectations for system upgrades in simple, non-technical terms.
- Clearly document requirements, development plans, and outcomes, including training materials for end users and comprehensive technical documentation for all supported systems for the institutional partner CRM support team.
Project Tracking, Training, and Coaching
- Provide regular guidance and CRM training to Admissions and IT staff.
- Serve as a technical mentor for members of the campus technical team assigned to the CRM and related systems, offering feedback to enhance their technical skills and recommendations for further development.
- Translate technical concepts for functional users and mentor technical teams during implementation and post-implementation support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is required. Advanced degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years of related full-time professional experience required.
- Experience working with enrollment management, student success, or advancement at a public or private not-for-profit college or university setting; higher education practitioner experience and familiarity with federally designated minority-serving institutions (MSIs) preferred.
- Experience configuring, developing, and implementing functional requirements within the Slate platform required.
- Experience with student information systems and/or university administrative systems, such as Banner, Colleague, PeopleSoft, Jenzabar, etc.
- Experience with project management software and task management tools.
- Certification(s) such as project management, product management, strategic management, or industry/technology-specific certifications may be beneficial.

Working Conditions or Other Requirements
Ed Advancement has offices in New York, NY, and Washington, DC. This full-time, exempt position, reports regularly to one of our offices as determined by the Vice President, Services and Solutions, and in accordance with organizational policies. This position will involve access to confidential information and highly sensitive matters, which must be handled tactfully and carefully. Employees must securely manage all data and non-public information. Occasional weekend and evening hours, travel to partner institutions, and other travel may be required.
Compensation and Benefits
Hiring salary range: $80,000 – $110,000, based on qualifications and experience.
