Description
Partnership for Education Advancement is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the Project Management Office (PMO). The successful candidate will have experience in developing and managing work plans. They will also be able to create and produce reports and dashboards to present relevant outputs to leadership. Reporting to the Project Operations Manager, the selected candidate will manage multiple projects simultaneously while also assisting with standardizing processes and procedures across the organization’s full portfolio of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment
  • Partner with project sponsors to identify schedules, scopes, budget estimations, milestones and implementation plans, including risk mitigation
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, and budget
  • Analyze project status and, when necessary, consult with project sponsors to revise the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes
  • Serve as an advocate for stakeholders and end users by working with the project team to increase awareness on critical impacts
  • Assist institutions in developing a plan to manage changes and increase adoptions of solutions across their internal stakeholder groups
  • Anticipate, identify and mitigate organizational risks associated with a project
  • Assign and monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and maximize deliverables
  • Produce and maintain clear and detailed project documentation
  • Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan
  • Ensure a training program is developed and deployed to end users

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and four or more years of project management experience
  • Five or more years of higher education experience
  • Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines
  • Proven success working with all levels of management
  • Ability to use agile project management methodology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management, and/or change management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience with Slate or comparable CRM
  • Experience working at an HBCU, MSI and/or other institutions focused on serving under-resourced students
  • Reside within commuting distance to one of our two office locations (Washington DC/New York City)

Working Conditions or Other Requirements

Ed Advancement has offices in New York, NY, and Washington, DC. This full-time, exempt, position, regularly reporting to one of our offices as determined by the Chief Operating Officer, and in accordance with organizational policies. This position will involve access to confidential information and highly sensitive matters, which must be handled tactfully and carefully. Employees must securely manage all data and non-public information. Occasional weekend and evening hours, travel to partner institutions, and other travel may be required. Proximity to one of our offices (New York City and Washington, DC) is preferred.
